Soylent Acid Flashback: Woodstock Willie Pitts

Only the most veteran Soylent minions will recall a post from my fist week harassing the hyperverse back in March of' '09 concerning Willie Pitts and his Church of Universal Love and Music.

Back then, Willie would throw massive "Funk Fest" concerts on his farm near Pittsburgh in Fayette County, PA.--or as we call it "Fayette Nam"--even attracting some big-name acts like Derek Trucks and George Clinton.

But, alas, he pissed of the local pols who sicked the zoning board on him and fined the shit out of him. Then, in a flash of genius, Willie incorporated the nonprofit Church and filed a religious persecution suit--which was settled, allowing Willie to throw six such bashes a year.

But never underestimate the anger of an embarrassed small-time pol. The very next Funk Fest following the settlement was--Surprise--raided by the narcs. Willie sued again for religious persecution--this time in federal court--and U.S. District Judge Donetta Ambrose has already thrown out the search warrant from the raid.
The trial starts this week in Pittsburgh. Hopefully, this guy will show up to testify again.
