Gives A Whole New Meaning To 'Blow Job,' Doesn't It?

I don't know how I missed this, but thanks to the marvels of Teh Twit, I found it today:
The report by Interior's Office of the Inspector General detailed potential improper conduct by Steve Black, who worked as senior advisor to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar for energy, environment and natural resources policy. While he held this position Black dated NextEra Energy Resources lobbyist Manal Yamout, a conflict as Black oversaw several applications by Yamout's employer to build wind and solar facilities on public land.
I thought there were laws against doing that kind of thing on public land. Hell, I almost got arrested at the beach one time for that.
Speaking of Blow Jobs, another carbon crucifix collapsed #BecauseWind in Northern Ireland the other day.

Ooh, that first one to Ontario Wind Resistance was Linky Love, wasn't it? Put them in your sidebar while I...

Arrrrgh

GOODSTUFF tells me it's Talk Like A Pirate Day, so I pirated this pic from his weekly post.

Ah, Booty! Anyway, it turns out the artist has done lots of fantasy stuff, including cover art for (later editions of) Jack Chalker's Well World series...

And thereby hangs a... Anyway, watch your mizzen mast on the poop deck. Oh wait. That was linky love wasn't it? Why yes, yes it was...

MotherFucking Science Linky Love

Courtesy of Lubos, the hardest working man in string theory, I learned of this excellent aggregator for all things #MotherFuckingScience: Science 2.0. Go there, put it in your sidebar, all that good stuff.
Along the way, I was also reminded of the lesser, but still functional, utility of the Real Clear Science site--having become disenchanted with its cousin, Real Clear Politics, I had not visited in years. But there is some stuff there worth a perusal.
Now, there comes the issue of finding some Linky Love art that meets the standards you've come to expect--while still expressing some level of scienciness. No mean feat.
Luckily, I recalled that the protagonist in the original (not Asimov's)1939 short story "I, Robot" was named Adam Link. So, the next step was a small one...

I suddenly feel the urge to upload a large file.

QOTD: Nick Searcy

Okay it's from two weeks ago, and if I'd been paying my Twitter dues, I'd have seen it myself. As it is I had to borrow it from This Ain't Hell via Bad Blue. This is going in the sidebar:

"I know people have feelings. That's why I try to hurt them." -- Nick Searcy.

Hit the link and drink in the awesome of his Twitter salvo. A word of advice: Swallow your coffee put down the mug you start reading. There's also a short video "apology" you might enjoy. (I knew what was coming as soon as I saw the piano.)

Oh, wait. That's Linky Love, isn't it? Why yes, yes it is...

Blogasm: Two Steps Forward, One Large Step Back

Some of you may have noticed two new additions to the blogroll--The Union News and Doubting Is Thinking.
DIT is a fairly new site and looks highly promising. I highly recommend the author's takedown of Tesla's solar battery charging claims, further proof that Liberals and Ecotards (but I repeat myself) either can't, or demand that you don't, do math.
The Union News, on the other hand, assumes you already know Liberals and Ecotards can't do math--or anything else, except damage. Supreme Snarkage and Mockery, I should have known of it long before.
Sadly, I must also report that one of the greatest sites I have linked over the years is no more. That Hawaiian Host Of Hilarity and Sage Of Snooch, Sushi Bandit has exited the hyperverse. At what point this occurred, I do not know. Hopefully, he has not shuffled off this mortal coil and will return. The disappearance of his huge archive of awesome is a loss to humanity.
He would probably approve of this latest Linky Love contender, which I stole from Hookers & Booze:

These Aussie Are All Right...

Maybe a bit naive, but I like the spirit...and the URL.

Really, as long as Rudd and the Juliatards are pummeled tomorrow, I'll be relieved.
Oh wait, that's linky love isn't it? Oh well, time for the chains...

Awesome, A Contest I Could Actually Win

Found this via Bad Blue this a.m. at another site I forgot to put in the blogroll after the move: the Most Influential Blog In The History Of The Hyperverse...or something.
But how can I, with perhaps the most storied record of code monkey assfuckery in hyperverse history, actually win...? Easy, there's no voting! Of course there is a minor possible snag--one of you will have to nominate me.
Even though there is no voting, there are some rules--which seems like a non sequitur, but I'll play along. They are:

1. Display the award;
2. Link back to your nominator;
3. Answer seven questions concocted by your nominator;
4. Nominate other blog(s) and link them and,
5. Tell them you've nominated them.
Okay, 1--duh. 2--duh. 3--pending. 4--okay:

The Feral Irishman
The Lonely libertarian
Proof Positive
Visual Consumer
The Gormogons
Real Science
Knuckledraggin'
Aggie Sith
5--hmm, *devilish grin crawls over face.* Oh, alright. You know what? Fuck #3....

Soylent, what motivates you to blog?
Revenge, to crush my enemies, to see them driven before me, and to hear lamentations of their women.
Soylent, how do you come up with ideas?
Drugs...and lots of alcohol. I pretty much need them just to read the news these days. So, I have the proper perspective.
Greatest Achievement?
When McGoo, Harbqll, the Glorious Lemur King and I engineered the cancellation of the 2010 Web Log awards by getting RealClimate nominated as Best Religious Blog. I'll never beat that, although getting linked by Jerry Pournelle was pretty cool.
Appetizer? Whisky.
Salad? Whisky.
Main Course? Uh...a whisky.
And for dessert? I'll have a whisky.
And for the rest of you....Linky Love Chain Bra Awesome!!!
You might want to embiggenify that. See you on the victory podium.

Soylent Siberia Chain Mail Linky Love PSA Alert: Wine, Women and Politics

I found Jonathan via this week's Rule Five Snoocherama over at RSM's. He should be in your blogroll. The best way to describe Wine, Women and Politics? It's a cross between Visual Consumer and...well, me.

Now if that's not a selling point, I've never been boned at a used car lot. But I digress. Follow the link and welcome him to the puzzle house. Oh, and because he's a fan of the one-and-only Kyla Cole, he merits a custom Chain Mail Linky Love icon:
I'd embiggenify that, if I were you.

A Soylent PSA: New Linky Love Contender...?

Now, while nice, I don't think she holds a dripping hot candle to my chainmail skirt babe...

or even my original Linky Love Chain Bra babe, Julianne...

But as your Snoochmonger in residence, I am duty bound to present these morsels. If for no other reason than one of you may be in the market for a Linky Love logo, I'm here to help.

LinkyLove Reacharound: Wombat and Friends

Yes thanks to his iron constitution finally beating the CIA-created sickness that left him marooned in the 57th state for a fortnight, Wombat manage to post two of the three weeks worth of Rule 5 awesome I had forwarded--hey, when you're inventing your own antibodies to Andromeda Strain, you need all the snooch you can get.
But I digress. Thanks to his recovery, an extra thousand folks stopped by yesterday and pushed this pissant blog over the 3000 mark for the first time since our unceremonious departure from WP--Fuck The Code Monkeys.
Anyway, go welcome him back to the land of the living and check out the other...accouterments in the the Rule 5 Mega Ultra Lightning Babe post..

Thanks to Drew for his pimpage of the new Siberian digs yesterday.

And yes, I can take a hint...

And here I thought skull fucking was a bad thing. (Click to embiggenify.)
