Yep. At first pass this is stupid s all get out. Look deeper though. The US Military and Intel communities have been wanting a high-altitude sensor / commo drone for battlefield use and this tech might the ticket for that.
Jonolan is spot on; think in terms of a silent drone that is indefinitely airborne... monitoring YOU. A couple of years ago the good folks would have been suggesting a tinfoil hat. Could be, if those keyhole cameras don't weigh more than a person...and if they fly above the weather. Rigid airships do not like wind. See USS Shenandoah, USS Akron and USS Macon.

Only 21 hours for DC to NYC!!! With that kind of speed Col. "Light-horse" Harry Lee could turn back those red coats in a fortnight for sure!!!
