You Are Here: A Map Of The Skeptical Hyperverse
Bishop Hill (link to make him a more centralized node ;-) ) posted this scholarly screed yesterday. It focuses on blogrolls to look at ingoing and outgoing links to name the most central blogs skeptical of the "irrefutable evidence" of AGW.
My off-the-top analysis of its findings: Steven Goddard appears nowhere in the map.
References include John "Lewandowsky and I say skeptics are insane" Cook and Naomi "skeptics are tobacco/cancer deniers" Oreskes.
Carry on.

Cause Of The AWG Pause Discovered: Fat People
That's right. According to Canadian scientists, if you're going to the gym--you're killing the planet! Dieting? You don't care about TehChildren!! Exercising? You're a Nazi Denailist!!! Fat People are the cure for Thermageddon.
"Obese people--those with a body mass index greater than 30--seem to use less energy in order to stay warm in cooler temperatures than their thinner counterparts, the study found".
Using less energy means, of course, equals emitting less CO2. Awesome!
Naturally, with gravity having increased its relentless pull on my over-50 physique, I'm all for supporting this research: Couch Potatoes For The Planet!
We need to make some T-shirts...okay, yeah, sweatshirts would probably make more sense.
But think of the marketing tie-ins. We could really magnify the Eco-Tard cognitive dissonance factor: Bacon Burgers For Babies, Eat Scrapple To Save The Big Apple--Bloomberg would shit himself over that one--this one too: Big Gulps For Gaia.
And then, of course, there's the whole protected-status jujitsu angle: Eco-Tards discriminate against the the Calorically Dependent! Bwuhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Ken Trenberth to announce he's discovered the "Missing Heat" in subcutaneous deposits in 3...2...1. Bwuhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
I'm thinking there's some major fun to be had here. Have at it guys.

AGW Assclown Of The Week and Thermageddon Monger QOTD
This is so stunningly stupid, John Ashton deserves to win both awards, especially when you consider that he said it in a speech to the MET office:
"The consequences of (CO2-driven) climate change could still be catastrophic if climate sensitivity were zero."
So, even if GHGs had no effect on the atmosphere, they could still cause thermageddon. Why would anyone say something this weapons-grade stupid to a room full of supposed weather experts? Well, it might have something to do with the fact that he was the UK Special Envoy For Climate Change until 2012.
Apparently there aren't a lot of those cushy gigs around since some people noticed there has been no Global Warming in 16 years. Regardless, this is...

EUnuchs Rediscover Their Nads--Refuse To Bail Out Thermageddon Indulgences Market
Hooray! Yippee! The EUro carbon market crashed to an all-time low after the Parliament declined to artificially re-inflate the worthless pieces of paper the banks/governments have been trading for years while telling suckers it would save the planet.
His Wholly Reluctance God/King Obama and Communist Asswipe Sen. Bernie "Carbon Tax" Sanders hardest hit.
Oh, and to JuliaTard down in OZ. How are those poll numbers now?

ICYMI, Denying AGW Dogma is !!!!RACIST!!!!
And in other news, Joe Romm is a total scumbag. Stooping to invoke Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., he writes:
The greater the moral crisis, the more his words apply. The greatest moral crisis of our time is the threat posed to billions — and generations yet unborn — from unrestricted carbon pollution. Now more than ever, we are “tied in a single garment of destiny,” cloaked as a species in a protective climate that we are in the process of unraveling.Romm is, without doubt, lower than whale shit.

Karma is a MuthaFucka
Well, bankrupt Fisker got the balance of its half-billion DOE Scamulus loan guarantee anyway Friday and immediately fired 75 percent of its employees. Oops...
According to the class action suit filed by Outten & Golden, in a California district court, Fisker failed to notify the employees 60 days in advance, violating the federal U.S. Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act and a similar state WARN Act.The same firm won $3.5 million for fired Solyndsa workers.

Attack Of The Crab Monsters!!!
That was one of my favorite movies as a lad because it had Russell Johnson--the professor from Gilligan's Island--in it. But other than reminding me of Tina Louise, it was pretty bad.
But apparently the Thermageddon Mongers thought it was a scary enough idea to blame on GlobalWarming©. I guess bird flu, plague and zombie apocalypse didn't cut it with the focus group.
So enter a willing Journolist accomplice to spew out this prose...
Unless you agree (or not) to live in fuel poverty, freezing in the dark eating only Soylent Green--we're doomed.

At UNC, marine geologists are analyzing video of the slaughter that took place when they put mud crabs and oysters in tanks they intentionally polluted with carbon over three months for a 2011 study. It was like watching lions tear apart lambs.
The crabs scurried from their side of the tanks, banged on the shells of the traumatized oysters, pried them open with a claw in a way similar to what humans do with a knife at restaurants and gobbled them down. (Emphasis mine.)And you could be next!!!

Scumbag Thief and Forger Says Freeman Dyson Has Ruined His Reputation
Peter Gleick--an admitted forger and thief, who should be in jail--says Freeman Dyson--who has Einstein's old job at the Institute for Advanced Study--has ruined his legacy by telling the truth about lying, self-aggrandizing "Climate Scientists."
Not only can't these guys read a thermometer, they can't spell hypocrisy.

"Climate Ethicist": Anyone In PA Who Saved The Family Farm Via A Shale Lease Is A Killer
At least he said it in York, Pa., not in some classroom in Albany, NY or Sacramento, CA or Washington, DC. But that modicum of honesty was about all "Climate Change Ethicist" Donald Brown could muster, which begs the question: What are the ethical lessons of a presentation filled with outright lies?
Brown's argument relies on framing AGW as a moral issue because he can't mention the "science" that even the biased US media is finally starting to report as--at least--flawed.
Brown's first mention of "science...?"
It doesn't matter whether his claims are true, because if there's even a 16 trillionth of 1 percent chance that they might be, then we are morally obligated to act.
So when he spews absolute bullshit like, "I argue that 40 years ago we had enough evidence to have the ability to act," he gets a pass for lying to the uninitiated--because it doesn't matter that 40 years ago the consensus was about an onrushing ice age--it only matters that he says he cares.
And who might buy Brown's "ethical climate justice" tripe? How about an audience of religious students at the Lutheran Theological Seminary of Gettysburg? As I said, uninitiated.
He also, quite naturally, didn't tell this audience about United Nations Agenda 21's strategy to con Christians into pushing global environmental justice and unknowingly helping to shut down the American dynamo, and thereby ceding control to a UN-mastered government.
Why not? Because Brown is The Agenda 21 Guy--program manager for the United Nations Organizations at the U.S Environmental Protection Agency.
So, of course, he didn't look at the morality of Lewandowsky and Cook faking an online survey to paint AGW realists as conspiracy kooks, or the craptastically false Marcott Hockey Stick, or the ethics of AlGore getting $500 million from Oil Sheiks for his Thermageddon TV channel.
Oh, but that reminds me, I was not entirely honest in my introduction either. Brown did tell the truth--about his agenda, anyway--one other time:

Brown's first mention of "science...?"
"U.S. emissions in Pennsylvania are causing floods in other areas," Brown said, but the mainstream environmental movement and the press do not raise awareness of this issue. Instead they operate within the debate framed by those who oppose action on climate change, he said. (Emphasis mine.)That's right, no one--not even the "mainstream environmental movement"--will back him up on this scientifically baseless claim. But Brown has an out...

From The Just-Call-It-Something-Else Playbook, How To Fool Neanderthal Republicans Into Supporting "Action On Climate"
Yes, by using a paean to one of the founding fathers, and a simple linguistic substitution, "Climate Communications Experts" have determined that you too can fool EvilGas&Coal©-loving Republicans into admitting pollution is bad.
Yes, someone actually paid theses "academics" for producing documentation of this stunning revelation. But they did it for you, and ForTheChildren©. Carbon pollution is fouling our air and our water, and harming our health. We should take steps to maintain the purity of our air and water. As Benjamin Franklin said, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Which best describes your feelings about this? (Emphasis mine)
See? You have them thinking about soot and ash, not invisible CO2--Republicans are so stupid. Now, just substitute one for the other and...
Our free-enterprise economy only works properly when individuals and companies are held accountable for harm that their actions cause to unconsenting people or the country as a whole. Companies that release heat-trapping pollution into the air should be accountable for those costs. Which best describes your feelings about this?Voila, "60 percent of the respondents supported climate action." They're too stupid to remember we did this before changing
Don't try to use science--with the Hockey Stick shown to be even more fraudulent than before, none of the predicted sea level rise, no tropospheric hot spot as predicted, and no Global Warming for at least 16 years--you can't win.
Use semantics--because Republicans are stupid.

Awesome: Hansen To Quit NASA So He Can Sue The Government For Not Fixing Global Warming
This could be Epic. James "Dr. Venus" Hansen, whose projections of Thermageddon were so laughably wrong he spent the last several years corrupting the US temperature record to manufacture some congruence, is retiring from NASA this week.
(R)etirement will allow Dr. Hansen to press his cause in court. He plans to take a more active role in lawsuits challenging the federal and state governments over their failure to limit emissions, for instance, as well as in fighting the development in Canada of a particularly dirty form of oil extracted from tar sands.
Bwuhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
I can't wait to see him defend his data tampering in court. What do you suppose the going price for the popcorn concession is?

Michael Mann Can't Read A Thermometer Either
Just experienced? There's been no warming for 16 years. Which two decades, Michael?
Perhaps the two right after the Laurentide Ice Sheet Receded? Certainly not the 4,000 years before then. Oh, that's right, your hindcasting can't find that either.

BioFuels: Working Even Better Than They Planned
Ah, the wonders of a command economy...
In one scenario analyzed by NERA, the death spiral produces a 30% increase in gasoline prices and a 300% increase in the cost of diesel fuel in 2015. Potential adverse macroeconomic impacts include a “$770 billion decline in GDP and a corresponding reduction in consumption per household of $2,700.” Ludwig von Mises coined a term for such debacles: “Planned Chaos.”Well, if it's getting Henry Waxhead to actually take another look, it's almost worth it.

WWF Celebrates Successful Child Abuse Campaign
Yes apparently they've so disturbed young people in Sweden that they are getting physically ill thinking about global warming.
“The sight of an idling car, heat-trapping carbon dioxide spewing from the tailpipe, would send me into an hours-long panic, complete with shaking, the sweats, and staring off into space while others conversed around me.”
Way to go, Eco-tards. You win the Assclown Of The Week award...and it's only Wednesday. Awesome.

Alpha Proxima Day In The Burgh
Our slogan has always been, "If it can't be seen from space, you're doing it wrong." Well, here's a shot of the Burgh during Earth Hour from ISS.
Way to go, neighbors. In contrast Paris went dark...for 5 minutes. And how did the Pommies fare? They spent the day digging out of the snow. Bwuhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha.
