And five years later, His Wholly Reluctance God/King Obamandias is still plowing ahead with his plans to destroy the energy infrastructure for the benefit of himself and his masters who are long on Sun Beam and Unicorn-fart non-energy exposure. So here's to Climategate, with the QOTD-- actually a few days ago:

That was the title and tagline to my original blog launched March 4, 2009. Then, as now, I railed against the Carbon Kelptocrats and their patron, God/King Obamandias of the Chicago Carbon Exchange, who I knew would destroy the nation's energy infrastructure with a non-energy policy promising free power generated from unicorn farts and sunbeams.
Now that he has nothing to lose and no support from either party in DC, he is going institute those policies, and make sure we are all fighting for soylent scraps as we are hurled.back into medieval serfdom via a flurry of executive orders. And though it will make energy prices "necessarily skyrocket," and will do absolutely nothing to reduce global temperature or CO2 levels, congress will be unable to stop it.
So drink up, Minnesota, it's going to get even worse.
On the bright side, we won't see the new dystopia ushered in by marauding hordes of machete-wielding juaristas and/or exploding jihadis on the news because the rolling blackouts will keep us, again, in the dark...freezing in the dark.
Then again, there is always the Michael Corleone Protocol--because, global warming or not, it's hard to sign anything after you've been reduced to room temperature.

An Observation On The EPA Thermagedon Hearings

As awesome as it was seeing 26,000 United Mineworkers shut down Pittsburgh at noon yesterday, clogging the streets outside the federal building where the EPA began two days of public comment on its Back To The Stone Age CO2 Limitation Rule, inside the building, crap like this was being read into the record:

"The consequences of continuing this pattern of energy use are surely devastating both to the atmosphere and the fresh water system, for us and especially for our children and their grandchildren." -- Chatham University biologist Patricia DeMarco.

Could she possibly have added any more ecotard, liberal, zero-sum, misinformed hand wringing? I'll wager she thought it was "devastating" when the Chatham board voted in the spring to go co-ed in an effort to not go broke. Now she has to deal with all that male ickiness, assuming any males actually apply. But I digress.
As some of you may remember, the EPA cut off public comment in 2009 when it was ostensibly formulating these rules, and deleted all comments calling their farmed-out "science" into question.
So while it's gratifying to see some people rally for common sense, it doesn't matter to the elite billionaires funding the ecotard annihilation of the poor, sick and old, and then the rest of us--we spoil the view from the veranda, don't you know--nor does it matter to their bought-and-paid-for minions in the EPA.
When I started my first blog, Soylent Green, the tag line read, "Just what you need when you're freezing in the dark."
After my exile to Siberia, I changed it to reflect the current state of affairs. In the last 13 years this government has systematically moved to take away our energy, food and shelter. So, is throwing thousands of people out of work and quintupling the energy costs for millions going to stop them? No. It's a feature, not a bug.

Just Three Shopping Days Until: Alpha Proxima Day

Welcome to Soylent's 6th Annual Alpha Proxima Day Celebration--The counter confrontation to Earth Hour, which again takes place on the half-hour this Saturday, because #Ecotards.
So it's time again to turn on every light and electrical appliance on your property in an attempt to outshine the other two stars in the trinary system. As always, turning off your mains and using gas or diesel generators for power will earn extra AlGore points.
Now you veterans will recall that we retired both the Plume De Hansen and Frozen Flame awards a few years ago when the international minion review board decided that the guy who punked David Suzuki's Earth Day party with searchlights from a neighboring house could not be beat.
So this year we will award a new trophy--the Flame of Fucktardery--to the winner.

Again, idling road graders, dumps, semis, locomotives all get extra points. Bonfires, as always, are judged on a sliding scale based on size and fuel toxicity. McGoo's barn burner and Harbqll's vinyl-siding-by-the side-of-the-road were near winners in previous years. So send in your tales of awesome...and photos (more points).
And remember our credo: If it can't be seen from space--you're doing it wrong.

Of course the God/King won't tell them that when he's using them for props during his stop in the Burg today. He'll blather about about the props' "good-paying jobs" and raising the minimum wage---which ever so conveniently also raises USW wages.
He'll neglect to tell the props that the EPA's assault on coal--all so he can say he's "acting on climate change"--will eliminate the steel industry, and their 'good-paying jobs". You can't make steel without coal, more specifically, coke. The steel industry didn't start here for iron ore, there isn't any. It began here because there is a lot of coal and three rivers to move it on..
The USW union bosses won't mind, though. They've diversified. They now even get dues from the people making these, in Pittsburgh's Strip District. Too bad they can't power a steel mill, or a coke battery, or even a AA-battery now that I think of it. Fuck Obama!
