When You've Lost "60 Minutes"...

Leslie Stahl interviewed ex-DOA "scientist" Steven Koonin who considers himself blameless for approving "on the order of 30" of the $150-billion in Green Graft loans that either went straight into the pockets of a few well-connected "innovators" or straight down the shitter, producing nothing but FAIL.

Stahl: The government spent about $150 billion on these innovations. Taxpayer dollars. Money well spent?
Koonin: I think there are significant developments that have come out of that spending that impact our energy system now. (!!!!????!!!! No shit, Sherlock!) New technologies demonstrated. (You mean those "new" 18th century windmills?) I think it was good value for the money.(I'm sure Mark Knofler* would agree.)
Stahl: Well, Solyndra went through more than half a billion before it failed. Then I'm gonna give you a list of other failures: Abound Energy, Beacon Power, Fisker, V.P.G., Range Fuels, Ener1, A123, Ecotality. I'm exhausted.
Koonin: As I told you, the energy business is tough.
Pardon the fisking, but his utter obliviousness to this level of FAIL is unreal. Check out the rest of the transcript at the link, which also contains this QOTD, even though it's old:
"When government tries to pick losers and winners, it typically picks loser. Why? Because in a free market, consumers pick winners to leave the losers for the government."

Ecuador's Eco-Extortion Fails. Tree Huggers Crushed

Yeah I hate it when that happens, a perfectly good protection racket...wait for it...up in smoke. Remember a few years ago when Ecuador announced it would not drill for oil under its rain forests if the "international community" ponied up $3.5 billion.
Well, apparently Sting didn't have that much in petty cash--so, they're going to drill. Nice try guys. Bwuhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Speaking of Ecuador, Snarky Basrtard said he was going there a while back. Dude, where's my Panama hat, and my tortoise? You forgot my Blue-footed Booby too, right? Well, lucky for me, I have something better: Blue-Breasted Boobies!

  • Hey, it is T-Gif Friday.

Sierra Club Wants Illiterate Melon Pickers To Insure That The AGW Fraud Gravy Train Rolls On

Yesterday, I got an email at the office with a link to a message from the Sierra Club. Surprise--it supports the "rights" of illegal immigrants over those of us born here and those who came here legally--because they will vote for more totalitarian Eco-fascist control of everything, which suits the elitist Sierra Club board just fine.

"Our own polls indicate that 90 percent of Latino voters favor clean energy over fossil fuels"

I'd love to see that poll.

"If we are serious about solving the climate crisis and protecting our democracy, then we need to work with the hardworking men and women who want to play by then rules and play a part in building a healthy, safe and prosperous future for our country."

Pardon my ability to read, Michael, but they have already shown by their actions they do not "want to play by the rules."

In case it's unclear from the image above, Fuck you!!!!!!!!

Surprise: Another Scottish Wind Turbine Collapses Due To WIND

Yes, the Plover-Pureeing Carbon Crucifixes don't work when there's no wind, and when there's a lot, they crash to the ground--but they will still save the planet if we cover every square inch of arable land with them. This time in the Eco-FAIL occurred in Aberdeen.

It is The Scotsman's top story--knocking the custody fight over a sheep from the top of the page.

The landowner used a tractor with a digger attachment to collect the turbine blades on Wednesday. Neighbour Willie Mitchell, whose home overlooks Mr Anderson’s land, said: “It just goes to show how dangerous these things can be.
