Well, then I propose that the inner meaning of Under The Skin is that the skin wanted to "out" the inner alien that the skin had superficially internalized (from an external point-of-view, of course).
We, the sophisticated viewers, are supposed to see beyond the inner workings of the externally worn skin in order to more fully appreciate the outer behavior of the inner alien.
BTW: "Nymphomaniac" was surprisingly subtle, from a existentialist point-of-view. Her philosophical discussions & polite debate with the elderly gentleman were actually stunningly acute.

Anyone besides me really really really puzzled as to the inner meaning or message in that film?
It was an "art" film, McGoo. Art films have no inner meaning--you're supposed to supply that.
Her new one "Lucy" looks far more entertaining.
