My mother once used the term Whores bath." I asked her what that was. She answered the question with gestures. With a rag in one hand, lifted the opposite arm (scrub-scrub) on the arm- pits, followed by the opposite, then finally, the money maker gesture.
I was pretty sharp at 14. A whores bath is what a busy woman could do freshen up when she' on the go!
Never happens in my kitchen.... Does remind me of the t-shirt/joke about 'I keep hearing about battered women, and all these years I've been eating mine plain!'
